Namık Kemal High School, which was the first high school in Tekirdağ to be a school that marked its mark on the Turkish National Education. In 1869, according to the instructions prepared and published by Saffet Pasha, the Ministry of Education, it was decided to open the sultanate in the centers of marriage and provinces in the married towns. 1317-1318-1319 (miladi 1901-1902-1903) Rumi Salman-i Nezareti Maarifi In the offices of the General Directorate of the Salman-i Nezareti, there is talk of the existence of an idiomatic high school in the center of Tekirdağ. When we concentrate our researches, it is known that idadinin (high school) was opened with the efforts of Redif Binbaşısı Rıza Bey, the son of the famous poet Kazım Paşa, in the name of Mektebi İdadi-i Mülki Şahane, in Rüstem Paşa külliyesi. (24 August 1921) as well as French, Agriculture, Health, Algebra Teacher Training by Apdel Kerim Nadir Efendi. History, Turkish, Mathematics, Geometry Teacher Veli Efendi; Arabic, Farsi, Turkish Teacher Training Haci Ali Efendi; Sheikh Emin Efendi, Ulumu Teacher of Religion and Morality; Dimetokalı Efendi made science and mathematics teaching. Painting Teacher Kemal Efendi; Good writing teacher Hamdi Bey, Mustafa Kâmil Efendi is an Arabic teacher and Necip Effendi is a Geography Teacher.
In 1901, the number of students was 120, which is four years of high school. In the 1902-1903 school year, there were 92 students, of which eighteen were Turkish and 11 were non-Muslim. The building of Tekirdağ İdadiyesi (High School) was transferred to the Cumhuriyet Primary School (when it was founded) in 1920. In 1880, a school called Tekirdağ Zikur Rustiyesi was opened in the place where İdadinin (High School) was located. This is the continuation of this old school (secondary school). In Tekirdağ, as we mentioned before the Republic, there were idiots and rushers. After the occupation, the first part of the occupation, which was closed in the occupation years, had 110 students. In the 1923-24 education year, it was converted to a nine-year course.
In the 1923-24 education year, the middle school started education in the old Hacıilbey Primary School which is now the Yahya Kemal Beyatlı Kindergarten and after another two months later moved to the historical building which is the present Namik Kemal Primary School in 1924-25 education year. The training continued for a long time in this historic building. In the 1926-27 school year, the mixed medium was mixed; There were 256 students in 1933-34 education year and 546 students in 1937-38 education year. The number of teachers in 1930 is 14. In summary; It is possible to connect the past of Namik Kemal High School, which is the first high school established in Tekirdağ, to Mekteb-i İdad-i Mülk-i Şahane (High School) and Tekirdağ Rüştiyesi (middle school) opened in 1882.
In 1955, Namık Kemal was given the name of our school, which has secondary and high school students in it. Until 1998, Tekirdağ secondary school and high school were under the same roof, but in 1998 secondary school was removed from the world. In 1982, a boarding house for women was opened and in 1997-1998 academic year, a foreign language-based school was opened. It was included in the megep project in 2004-2005 school year. It was converted into Anatolian Lisesi in 2005-2006 school year. On May 21, 1964, education-teaching begins in the building of Yavuz Mahalles. The foundation of this school was laid on 28 November 1957 by President Celal BAYAR and Prime Minister Adnan MENDERES. In those years, Cemal TARLAN, the Governor of Tekirdağ, also helped. However, due to the lack of stability of this building, the building which was constructed as a primary school in Toki residences during the 2008-2009 school year was temporarily moved to the current building in the second half of 2009-2010 academic year. The official opening of today´s building, which we continue to train, was held on April 15, 2012 with a mass opening ceremony by our President Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN.
Our school has graduated 42561 graduates with a high level of self-confidence, who is trying to glorify her country, who loves the nation with the quality education she has been giving for her existence for 135 years. After that, Namik Kemal High School will continue to operate with the same determination and determination as the family.
